My mother was Polish, and we always did (and still do) the big Christmas Eve family dinner, followed by presents. Christmas Day is the day we went to Mass. When I married my husband, it actually worked out quite nicely- Christmas Eve with my family, Christmas Day with Gordon's. My kids thought that Christmas gift-giving came in two parts for everyone.
