Hi Janice, Oh dear! Your message brought back such memories ...
I went to a grammar school in Cardiff, in South Wales, and the uniform included the liberty bodice with the suspenders to hook our (dark green) lisle stockings to, a pair of white cotton knickers, and over those a pair of dark green knickers with long legs, and pockets in the legs. In fact, one of my friends - and we have both turned 60 just recently! - is *still* called 'Pockets', by those of us who have known her since Methuselah was a lad, because she actually used to use the pockets in her knickers. I can't begin to imagine what we muct have looked like on the playing fields/netball/tennis courts etc. We had a sort of dark green Grecian tunic, with red binding around the edges including the skirt, which was a divided skirt, but even in that, the knickers showed below the skirts. I don't think we ever experienced lads - young or older, in raincoats or without - hanging about the school railings to catch a glimpse of such pulchritude! Those *were* the days ... Carol - in Suffolk UK. > Does anyone remember having to wear navy blue nickers for playing netball? It was an all girls school but the boys hung around the railings when we were playing! > Janice > > > Janice Blair > Crystal Lake, 50 miles northwest of Chicago, Illinois, USA > > To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: > unsubscribe lace-chat [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace-chat [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
