Some people have such a way with words that as you read their writings, you feel like you are conversing with an old friend. Peggy Noonan is that kind of writer. I have read her articles for years now, and each time I feel richer because of it. Her piece on our present disaster is no exception. It's one of those things that you read and say, I wish I had said that!
Let me warn you, a registration may be required. These days she writes columns for the Wall Street Journal. It's been so long since I started reading her column that I don't remember. If you would like, email me and I will send you the piece. There is a link on the page for emailing the article to others, but the article is too long to post here. The link I am listing here is her archives, the column I am referring to is "Disturbances in the Earth" http://www.opinionjournal.com/columnists/pnoonan/archive/ As on 9/11, I do not have anyone in my close circle of family or friends who was involved in this event, but still I feel personally affected by it. Perhaps it is because we all are.
