a domesticated animal as 'an animal selectively bred in captivity and thereby modified from its wild ancestors, for use by humans who control the animal's breeding and food supply.' So, can anyone tell me if the farmed emus and kangaroos are domesticated or tamed?
That's a very interesting point. They are certainly not altered or selectively bred, and they're definitely NOT tamed. But they are used for food, leather and eggs etc. So I would be more tempted to use the word "farmed" rather than either tamed or domesticated.
But then, doesn't that also apply to cattle and sheep - except perhaps for the selective breeding??
