Hi, Just wanted to put my input, I too am new, however I have a stand....it used to be a bible stand and the bottom kept falling apart, so I cut it down and added a square of wood underneath with felt so it won't mess up my wood floors, it has a slight slope and I just love it, can't imagine using anything else. It used to belong to DH grandparents so I get to keep it in the family and get use out of it. I was one of the unfortunate ones to buy the horror kit, it sat for 3 years and I couldn't figure anything out. The people in this group are wonderful, such helpful people, no question is to dumb, and believe me I have had some questions along the way. :)
