I sometimes use PINE at uni. It's very good, but it's completely text-based (all keyboard shortcuts and answering yes/no questions) and it's very difficult to quote anything other than nothing or the entire lot because you work on a line-by-line basis rather than highlighting with your mouse. It's bad enough working with one email conversation with one person, let alone trying to get just the interesting bit out of a long email like a digest!
