I have another question about a sentence in the same book.
This sentence is "Chance'd be a fine thing." I have no idea if
someone famous said it, but when I googled the sentence,
all the hits I got were from blog sites. So it seems to be very
popular.

Does anyone know where it originated from & what it means?

Thanks in advance,
Pene
