I've already replied to Carolyn privately saying:

"George Bush spoke immediately after Tony Blair, and his first words were
""This morning I have been in contact with the Homeland Security folks. I
instructed them to be in touch with local and state officials about the
facts of what took place... in London and be extra vigilant." At which point
the TV cut to the studio presumably because people would have been upset
that condolences weren't offered first. If he did offer any, it was after
that statement, but I haven't seen or read that he did."

That seems to be the only bit that Reuters has reported.George Bush hasn't been mentioned again, except grouped as "the other world leaders" expressing their condolences.

London appears to be back to normal this morning except for the obvious problems caused by the investigations at the crime scenes, including major parts of the undeground system being closed off.

On a much nicer note, I became a great aunt (the nearest I'll ever be to a mother or grandmother). Not unusual, but really pleasing that old family names are being carried on through the twin girls born yesterday - Georgianna (my great grandmother's name on my mother's side) and Charlotte (the female version of Charles, which has been the first name for several generations of men on my father's side).
