Dear Fellow Arachneans (some of whom I'll see soon in Denver),
On Monday evening I finally arrived in Chicago after flying for nearly
10 hours from Warsaw in Poland. A new terminal is in the process of
being built there & hopefully it'll improve things for passengers
traveling through. I think that it's just too small to cope with the
volume of people.
Anyway, Janice met me at the airport & I very much enjoyed the 3 nights
I stayed with her. On
Tuesday we went to a few shops to get a few things that I needed. It
rained most of the afternoon
but everyone was thankful that the heatwave had ceased to be. So if you
need rain, ask me to
come for a visit. ;-) Janice took me to visit a little town named
Woodstock where the movie
"Groundhog Day" had been filmed. While browsing in a little bric-a-brac
store Janice spotted a
cute mug with a yellow horse painted on it. After looking at it, she
said "I think that you should
consider buying this." I inspected this intriguing object & we both
laughed when I read "Made
in Estonia" on the sticker on the bottom. We both thought that was a
very weird coincidence.
I decided not to buy it, in the hope that whoever does purchase it would
learn something new.
Yesterday, before Janice dropped me off at DH's cousin's home where I'll
be sleeping for 2
nights, I had lunch with her & Jane, who gave me a bobbin & asked me
questions about Estonia.
Now I'm waiting for my washed clothes to dry so that I can pack my bag
again before I catch a plane on Saturday morning.
So I'll see some of you real soon,
Pene Piip, catching up with reading her e-mails & relaxing in the Windy
City.
