Hi everyone While our (Canadian) national radio and tv (I think tv, too - I don't have one) has a labour lockout, bless them - I have been listening a lot to KPLU, a nearby American station and a public station. National Public Radio has really good reporting - if anyone in the US wants to hear various angles of the hurricane catastrophe, it would be a good idea to tune in to the NPR station in your area. You might be surprised at what you hear, compared to other media ;)
In another part of the world, a friend of mine went to housesit for family in Alberta, and unfortunately where the blizzard just struck - so widespread power outage, heavy snow, roads closed, broken branches everywhere, one quick call by cel phone to let us know she's ok, and she will have to stay where she is, with only the family dog for company until a) the power is restored (then she can at least e-mail) and b) the family returns... and she thought she'd go for R & R... -- bye for now Bev in Sooke, BC (on Vancouver Island, west coast of Canada) Cdn. floral bobbins www.woodhavenbobbins.com To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace-chat [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
