Hi everyone A percolator forces water up a spindle then comes back *down* through the filter basket containing ground coffee, ad bubbleum - the moka maker forces the water *up* through the filter basket, and into a reservoir on top. Percolating coffee smells heavenly, but the coffee itself lacks taste IMO. The moka is aka 'poor man's espresso' and it is rich coffee, but doesn't have the crema that real espresso does.
