Hello Joy

There's a good series of articles about web graphics by David Leader (The Lace Guild's webmaster) to be found at:

Sliding completely off on a tangent: the web pages that interest us are often designed by people who know more about lace than about web design, and a very common mistake that beginners make is using the "height" and "width" attributes to shrink a photo down to fit the screen. (height and width are specified so that the browser can reserve the right amount of space for the image, which keeps the text from jumping around as the images download.)

As a result, it often happens that you have downloaded more resolution than the web page will show you. But if you right-click on the image and then click "view image", you will see all of the pixels that you've downloaded. I've seen images double in size when viewed alone!
