Another plan is to save the page as a file, then edit it with your word 
processor.  

If you can highlight the desired text, you can copy it, paste it into a new 
document, and reformat.  

A related problem is the page that insists on displaying the beginnings of 
lines to the left of the left edge of the screen.  It takes education to be 
that incompetent!  Sometimes I paste such a page into an e-mail so that I can 
read it; more often, I decide that nobody that stupid could have anything 
interesting to say.

I tend to use my mailer as a crude text editor, because it's always open when 
I'm on line, but I almost never print with it because it adds unwanted lines 
above and below the message.  When I want a hard copy of a message, I copy it 
into PC-Write or Open Office.
