Tip from the frozen North: use a push broom to clear off your car -- and do it before any thawing has happened, so you don't have to chip ice. And if you clear off the windows facing the sun, the rest of the snow will remove itself. But it's wise to refrain from going anywhere near the roads after the first snowfall of the year.
