Reminds me of when I first started teaching science and was on my
probabtonary year, during which I was inspected twice by the county's
science adviser. He was of the opinion that women shouldn't be teaching at
all, let alone science, and never mind modern teaching methods - according
to him you could teach anything, including sex education, with an
oscilloscope and a stick of chalk!
