I might be wrong, but I suspect that everyone except some in the USA know what "footy" is - football, known as soccer in the USA, but football in the rest of the world.

I'd also suspect that "keepy uppy" would be another expression that needs explanation as it's very much connected with football - it's kicking a football (round soccer one) up about 12-15 inches with one foot, changing feet and kicking it up with the other, and keep repeating. Youngsters compete to see how many times they can kick the ball up on alternate feet before they miss and it hits the ground.
