Dear Spiders -

In addition to lacemaking, I also make "Sailor's Valentines". For those of
you not familiar, they are shell mosaics, normally done in octagonal wooden
glass-front boxes (see http://www.sailorsvalentines.com/blanda.htm for
examples). The originals were produced in Barbados in the mid-1800's as love
tokens and souvenirs for sailors.

Now...to the point of this email! I am searching for a certain shell, Spirula
spirula, sometimes called a ram's horn shell, which is from a tropical,
deep-water squid. It is delicate, washes up on beaches but is just not
something we find in Virginia. If any of you know of a reliable source, have
access to an excellent shell shop or any coastal dwellers downunder have some,
please contact me!

Thanks!

May your threads never tangle,
Cindy
