I'm not sure what format it will be, but now I have some more questions to
ask. I taped something on vcr and now want it on a DVD so that I can give
it to my sister who is in England. There is a company here which can do the
conversion and he only talked about Pal and whatever the other format is
that we use, don't remember the name. But, armed with your comments, I can
now ask him more questions.
For $25 we are interested, for $145, it isn't that important!
Thanks - Malvary in Ottawa

Oh, right. I assumed you were using a commercial movie format. If you're
using a
PC movie format like wma and burning it to a DVD, then you're right. You
can use
anything. PCs have no regions (unlike DVD players).

I think this is for the commercially sold DVDs, as in movies. If we make
a
DVD on our computer, it should be playable on another computer, anywhere
in the world, as long as the respective software is compatible (if new
enough, it should be).
I received one from an e-friend in the UK, and viewed it using my
picture-viewing prgram (Irfanview) not the media player.
I and my computer are in Canada :)
