This morning I was lent a copy of Elizabeth David's book about
Mediterranean cookery & after reading the foreword written by Clarissa
Dicksson-Wright, looked her up in Wikipedia. The web-page says that she was
given 11 names when she was born. Check it out:

I know someone wrote that she preferred to say "Christian" name instead of
"given" or "first" name, but this is done today because there a lot of
people who belong to other religions, or none at all.
What I don't like is a child calling their mother & father by their first
names. I can understand children using their step-parent's first names, but
I feel that it shows a lack of respect & sounds strange not to hear
"Mom/Mum" or "Dad". Here in Estonia the honorific of "uncle" & "aunt" are
used quite a lot by young children.
