Tsk, tsk and tut, tut; *very* un-PC, especially now and especially in Virginia :) Unfortunately... Also very true.

Nobody ever thinks much about it but, one of the reasons I hate talking on the phone with strangers is the chance of having to talk to *another* non-native speaker of English. Native speakers have little or no trouble understanding me. I may, sometimes, have a bit of a problem understanding a native speaker, if their speech is uneducated and/or marked by strong regional/local accent. But, when faced with another non-native speaker, a bit shaky on pronounciation...It's a comedy of errors for everyone but me and my interlocutor; for us, it's just errors, without the leaven of comedy :)

From: B.R.

Mujibar was trying to get a job in India.

The Personnel Manager said,  "Mujibar, you have passed all the tests, except one. Unless you pass it you cannot qualify for this job."

Mujibar said, "I am ready."

The manager said, "Make a sentence using the words Yellow, Pink and  Green."

Mujibar thought for a few minutes and said,  "Mister manager, I am ready."

The manager said, "Go ahead."

Mujibar said,  "The telephone goes green, green, and I pink it up, and say, 'Yellow, this is Mujibar.'"

Mujibar now works as a technician at a call center for computer problems.

No doubt you have spoken to him.
