We kept getting emails supposedly to our MP. Tried forwarding them to the
address they should have gone to, but they ended up back in our mail box. We
got a lot of irate and sometimes abusive emails, demanding they be removed
from the mailing list. Some people sent four or five emails, each getting
more and more abusive. We emailed them and explained what was happening, and
it seems that we weren't the only ones. Found out later it was happening to
many people all over the country.Of course, no-one thanked us for telling
them we didn't know what was going on, that it was a waste of time trying to
reply to the emails, and that we were trying to get it put right.
Went to the web site and emailed MP directly at the Houses of Pariament, as
well as emailing the local branch of her political party. Got a very
apologetic email back saying there had been a "technical problem" on their
server, and that they'd corrected it.
As the political party conference season has just started, and the one for
this particular party is taking place this week, I reckon someone put a
virus, or one of the other nasty things they can add, in their system.
All seems to have been sorted now thank goodness.
