Actually, the knowledge that Lucie was going to speak, which I had received by informal channels was one of the major reasons I went to the Montreal convention. I was extremely eager to hear her speech. The majority of speeches and events at the convention are very good, and quite memorable. I recall there was at one convention a woman who dressed herself from the inside out in Elizabethan attire, explaining each garment, that was just fascinating. Many people missed this because it was not described in detail. I think the description was "fashion show" or something. Also, by the time people arrive at the convention and receive their materials, they are in a state of high excitement, seeing old friends, planning meals with them, etc, and only later realize that they have missed something that they would have enjoyed, if they had had the complete calendar in front of them months ahead of time.
