Hi all,

There are two cats that own the house I live in. Caramel is a male, an
orange tabby, with white paws. He was found by a colleague who lives in
the country, three years ago, hiding under her porch. It was January
and temperatures were below -20C. She took him in, but could not keep
him, so I adopted him. He is thought to have been between 6 and 8
months old when found. At the time, I had another cat, who was 18 and
has since passed away. Caramel is a shy cat, afraid of strangers, yet
very cuddly with me. He has totally ignored my lace, lacemaking, or
needlework.

Merlin is a female, a brown tabby with black markings, and the most
adorable little face. Yes, that's Merlin the Enchantress. She was
found by another colleague, one who is allergic to cats. It seems that
her previous owner moved and left her on the porch. She was just over
two months old at the time. She has been with me some 18 months,
arriving just five days after my old cat passed away. She gets along
great with Caramel and is a social cat who greets everyone at the door.
She loves watching me make bobbin lace, but doesn't care about any other
type of needlework. She loves playing with lace, which I have to hide
or see destroyed. She has her own bobbins to play with, which I hang
from the pillow when I am working at it. She does manage to knock her
bobbins off the pillow and then plays with them and loses them. There
are a few still missing.
