But I'm missing David's messages too, and I am on lace-chat-digest;
Makes no diff what list you're on; *some* of the messages intended for
my *personal* (not lace-chat and not lace) box, *still* end up on the
spam's trash heap. I'm never *quite* sure what triggers off the spam
filter; subject lines seem to be the most common culprit, with senders
addresses second.
so it seems that something is barring them before our major-domo
software gathers
messages together into a digest.
If by "our majordomo" you mean the Arachne one, you're right. It's your
individual provider (in your case: o2.co.uk) that decides whose message
is gonna make the cut and whose isn't. I check my (ISP-provided) spam
filter *daily*.
My plane ticket reservation (from Travelocity and absolutely
*necessary*) ended in the spam filter box once. Many of the jokes I
receive -- especially with somewhat "risque" *subject lines* (not
content) -- end up there. One time, I sent a question to Dominique in
Paris, with "rolls" in the subject line and her system trashed it,
because it thought I was peddling Rolex watches...
Check your spam filter DAILY, especially if you're waiting for a
message from a "mass sender" like Travelocity (or your House
representative or Senator... *almost all* of my politically-inclined
messages end up in the Spam fiter. Fair enough, given the content. But,
I want to see some of them <g>) .
Once a message lands in the spam box, you have only 14 days to retrieve
it. After that, it goes into the e-black-hole. 98% of the time, you can
say "good riddance" (and I do, when I travel) but, once in a while, you
can lose something valid, if you're not paying attention.
