Yes, it does but it makes a large pan. I've made it many, many times and it turns out just fine. Over the weekend, I made a bundt cake and that also called for 1 cup of oil. I hesitated also but the cake is delicious, turned out just fine. Sometimes when recipes call for what seems to be too much oil, you can substitute half of that amount with applesauce.
