Nancy Bush's book on Lace Knitting in Estonia is on my Wish List with
Amazon. I bought her sock book recently and am planning which pattern to
knit first. The Noro yarn Yoga socks for my daughter were non identical -
more siblings than twins! I now have a pair of FitFlops in the new winter
version, like clogs, which are perfect to wear with my hand-knitted socks.
Good knitting weather in Ireland at present!

Hi Pene -
I'm looking forward to seeing Nancy Bush's new book too! It's an eagerly
awaited book, it sounds like!!
Yesterday, I finished the first sock in a pair I'm knitting from Noro
Kureyon wool. This worked up quickly, and kept my hands busy while I felt
too miserable to make lace (classic head cold, which is finally going
away). I love the way the sock slouches on my leg, like the old
leg-warmers... And the fact that the stripes on the two socks won't match
is quirky and fun. They're going to be fun to wear - perfect with the
Birks!

I've been knitting recently also. I like to do something in the evenings
which don't strain my eyes.
I have 10 balls of Noro Silk Garden which I bought while living in MA,
USA, & I liked the stripped scarves that some knitters were making. See
http://yarnloopie.blogspot.com/2007/12/noro-striped-scarf.html
But I can't wear mohair against my skin, so I've knitted a sideways vest
using a pattern from Knitter's magazine (#62).
I finished it yesterday, & I now have to sew the shoulders & do something
to the edges - probably crochet an edge.
This week I will hunt out some buttons.
And speaking of shawls, I can't wait to receive Nancy Bush's new book
"Knitted Lace of Estonia".
Has anyone started something from this book?
Well, I better go & do something useful,
Pene in Tartu, Estonia,
where it is above 0 C degrees today.
