I now have bought some patterns but my hooks are all imperial. Can any one help me with a conversion chart? The patterns are all metric or USA.
My USA#8 crochet hook is 1.5mm metric -- but you don't need no steenking conversion chart. Just try hooks on your selected thread until you find one that the thread just fills. When you use an oversize hook to loosen your tension, you don't need the same hook the designer used -- your tension isn't his tension. The only time you need to pay attention to the arbitrary numbers on the hooks is when you switch from one hook to another and want the two hooks to match. -- Joy Beeson http://roughsewing.home.comcast.net/ west of Fort Wayne, Indiana, U.S.A. where the snow is gone and there aren't any fishermen on the ice.
