I know they recomend against it, however, I have given my cats a mild
seditive when they had to fly and they were fine. I don't mean "knock them
out" seditive but "take the edge off" seditive.

What may be wrong is that kitty doesn't like the carrier. Have son start NOW
with teaching kitty that the carrier is a good thing. Put kitty in there,
Give kitty treats, Tell kitty what a great kitty she is. ect. Only give
these treats in the carrier.

Also, take kitty on short trips in the car. Chances are, the only time kitty
is in the car is to the vet or to something horrible.Take kitty to the pet
store, take kitty on a drive to the park, do fun things with kitty so she
doesn't only assoicate the car and the carrier with bad things.

Good Luck!
