Thank you Jean.  I figured you wind fiber onto it and that it clamped on, but
what kind of thread, and how, in relation to netting?  Is there a reason it is
named that way as it specifically helps netting, or a typical thread and
technique used for netting?

Thorough details would be very helpful.
