I get hundreds of spam mails every day since my mail address is really old - from times when nobody cared about having his address in all the newsgroups. What I do now to not have to download all that spam: I let my provider forward all mail to a free google mail account I have. Then I fetch my mail from Google - rarely any spam left after being filtered by them. And a nice side effect is to have a huge archive of all my mail online, so even if my computer blows up I still haven it all at Google. But otherwise I fully agree - it would be nice to have people's quotes cut to the really necessary. Best, Achim from (too hot) Berlin.
