Must be that UK jails are one heck of a lot better than ours (in US). Here, it's free market all the way. The upper crust -- those who stole millions -- get all the amenities you mention. One ex-Congresscritter even moaned about being deprived of his Blackberry. The remaining 98% get AIDS from being raped by the guards or fellow inmates and their access to healthcare is on a par with the rest of the uninsured -- they'd better not get sick.
