I actually had to laugh in the midst of the tragedy in New Zealand. DH is
there, but in the north island so he's well away from any problems. I'm
checking his emails to see if there's anything important to be dealt with
(unlikely), and there have been several from his e-pals enquiring about his
welfare. All except one addressed their enquiry to me. That one made me
laugh.
It said: Subject - "Are you OK?" Message: "Can you get to a computer to
retrieve your emails and then let me know if you are OK."
I nearly replied " Sorry, I'm not aware that you've sent me a message, so I
won't be finding a computer to reply to the message I don't know you sent,
but I am OK."
But I desisted and sent a proper reply from me.
DH wasn't even aware there'd been an earthquake until he heard a couple
talking about it in a cafe. Absolutely dreadful and I can't imagine what
they're going through. Too many disasters in the world. I'm so glad I live
where I do.
