Here's the waste of time reply I got from Smile when I asked them why
Webshots photos aren't being transferred to Smile inside their original
folders and are without captions - just a load of waffle. I've repeated the
question and asked them to actually answer it - I'm expecting a repeat of
what I got below.
Corey Nelson replied:
Hello,
Thank you for your email. Apologies for the delay in responding.
As you may know, the Webshots site is closing down and we are transitioning
members to Smile by Webshots. Our new service is not a community or a public
photo sharing site; it's a new photo management system focused on sharing
with small groups of family and friends.
We've put together a Support Center that should answer a lot of your general
questions about the site. http://help.getsmileapp.com/
There's some general confusion around the site, so I am going to go over a
couple of issues.
Currently the calendar is not available, but please bear with us. It will be
available in the coming month along with more Screensaver and Wallpaper
setting options.
If you're having a problem with the Smile Desktop, try re-installing the
software. (Please be sure to quit Smile Desktop before re-installing). The
link below is where to get the latest:

Since the Webshots site will be closing down on December 1, we are
encouraging everyone to download and save their photo albums. (There is no
need to download and save your screensaver photos since they are on your
computer already in a folder called Webshots Data).

If you're having a problem associating your Webshots Data folder with Smile,
We've put together a list of instructions to help.

We do offer professional photos to download on smile.webshots.com in a photo
stream called Webshots Daily. If you install the Smile Desktop, these photos
will automatically download to your wallpaper and screensaver. You can also
go through the Webshots Stream on Smile.webshots.com and download close to
100 images.

We hope to address your individual questions shortly. In the meantime, thank
you for your feedback and your patience!
Keep Smiling!
