the latest invasion of Americanisms in Australia seems to be "sadly she passed". I just can't stand the way people have even become too frightened to use the verb "to die". On Thursday I will be playing for the funeral of an Aboriginal woman who "passed" in Melbourne earlier this week. I sure hope she obtained high enough marks to gain honours!!! Frankly I hadn't even realized she was sitting for the exam :)

Valda did NOT pass last weekend. She DIED!!!
