In Dutch it means a harpy, argumentative, horrid, manizing (is that the
opposite of womanizing?) etc. woman.

Yeah, well... From all I've heard about Xanthippe, Socrates would have
been all too happy to have passed *all* his marital rights to Plato
:) I seem to never hear/see her name in the English language lore
but, in Polish, "a nagging bitch" and "Ksantypa" are considered to be
synonyms.
