I am part of a Society for Creative Anachronism group up here in Alaska. We often make feasts, do potlucks, and even go out on occasion, and it can be insane. I am strongly allergic to onions (it isn't pretty), my DD is allergic to apples (asthmatic reaction that), my DH and two others are gluten intolerant, one is rice intolerant, we have one that cannot have dairy or egg, one that can't have cheese, egg, horseradish or pistachios. Oh yeah, and the two that are very allergic to soy. Needless to say, we have to be excessively picky about eating out, and darn careful about labeling anything we make for potlucks and feasts. As my DD put it recently, "Allergies suck!"
