Happy New Year to you David and to all my friends at Arachne Chat. I have another 9 hours to wait for it to get here, and I will probably be asleep by then. Have a bottle of bubbly ready just in case we stay awake. These days, none of my friends want to drive anywhere on this night so it will be a quiet one.
A number of years ago DH and I were in France for Christmas and stayed in Paris on New Years Eve. We even had a hotel window overlooking the Eiffel Tower. We asked what time the fireworks would be and were told they only did it for the millenium! The tower was nicely lit with sparkling lights but it was not the same. We were kept awake by the sound of the revellers outsider and the crashing of glass bottles. New Years Day was a bust also as the shops were closed, unlike here where the sales get going. We always see Sydney fireworks on the tv news. Does anyone have any New Year stories to share.
