For people born today in Samoa, it was the 1st. For those celebrating
their birthday (31st) in Samoa, I think they could be excused to have a
two-day celebration!! I would, under the circumstances... after all,
any excuse for a party!!

Made the news in UK as well. I can see why it makes sense for Samoa. A bit
hard though on people (like me) with birthdays on one of those days.
