Beautiful book !

Beautiful indeed, and only the first volume of the projected 6-volume "Encyclopedia" on different Cantu laces... Just wanted to add that the text is in both Italian and English, and the diagrams are in Belgian Colour Code.

Despite that, the book is not *really* suitable for a "self-starter" in Cantu/"Venetian"; the diagrams aren't always all that clear as to what the threads "do next" (or which direction they're going in the branching out), and the text on technique is scant, with no diagrams. Also, the textual directions don't seem to "agree" (for number of pairs, for example) with the diagrams. So, I'd recommend a basic course/workshop before trying to tackle the patterns.

OTOH, the book has a nice "wrinkle"; some of the "specimens" (examples?) are BL reproductions of the earlier, NL laces, with explanation on how and where they differ...
