Dear Arachnes, Last night, a longtime lace expert in the U.S. wrote the following to me, in response to my recommendation of Springett videos:
"Dear Jeri -- This is very nice, and thank you for taking the trouble to write it (not just to jazz up flagging arachne e-mail!). I'm not sure if you could exactly say this, but anybody who has the chance to take one of the fairly-frequent workshops that Christine and David give (in this country) should grasp at it -- it amounts to being touched by an angel. They are unique people." This is a recommendation I thought American lace students should have an opportunity to read. So, I wrote the lady who sent it to ask for permission to share. Her response this morning was: "Oh, by all means you can forward my note to you on to Arachne, and I do think perhaps leave my name off (in any case, the Springetts have known for years that I love them). When I think in how many ways lacemaking has taken hold of my life --! and David and Christine have been there (and so many others) like dependable stars in the sky." A nice tribute...
