Subject: [lace] Lace at Philadelphia Centennial

Apparently some representatives from the Philadelphia Museum were
visiting
the Ratti last week. They mentioned that the Philadelphia Museum has all
the
lace from the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition of 1876. Has anyone
ever seen
this lace? Does anyone know anything about it? I suppose it is entirely
possible
that it might be machine made lace since many of the Exhibitions of the
era
were so enthralled with the potential of machines, which we take for
granted
now.
