Hi everyone and Karen, looking for FSiHL

There are copies of this book, lurking, I'm sure. Karen, you could try
putting a note in the Lace Guild's green pages - I think they have a shop
and swap/buy sell or trade section - oh, hm, I just looked at one and it
would appear to be for sellers only, but you could ask. Or maybe write a
letter to 'Lace' itself - it might prompt a response from someone in the
UK.

I blush to go on with my tale, but I have just bought a 2nd hand copy
through Theo Brejaart - a few years ago I wrote, asking if he had the
title - no, but my name could go on a waitlist should a copy surface...I
must have said 'yes' - because recently he contacted me saying that a copy
was available...I'm v. sorry I hadn't known earlier that someone on the
list was looking...I offered to get it for a friend who is working through
Thompson's first book, and convinced her it was a good idea...and now she
has it (v. good service from Theo, by the way - overseas yet). My name
must have been on that list for quite a while, because I did eventually
find another copy - must have been the last one, from a bookshop in
Honiton, found for me at some trouble, I don't doubt, by Jonathon at The
Honiton Shop.

I worked through the first pattern, gnashed my way through part of the
second pattern, and quite enjoyably am working through the third pattern,
in 6 month intervals...

My last bit of free advice is if you're looking for a hard-to-find book,
put yourself on a wait list for it - through Theo, or one of the other
dealers. Maybe put the 'looking for' in your sig line to arachne! I'm
quite sure there are copies of this book to be had, from some lacemaker's
stash, and they will eventually work their way to someone who needs them.
