to an Arachne get together at convention. Did I miss it?
You haven't missed it; nothing was posted on the subject while you were gone. I don't think anybody had the energy to do anything bout it, what with the heat wave... :) Jeri (Ames) has got in touch with Lee (Daly) and Lee said that we could meet after the regional meetings (which are after the reception), and that we could also have a reserved table (or two, depending on how many of us there are) for the Thursday lunch. But Thursday is a bit late to be *starting* on making contacts... So, let's start "gravitating" *during* the reception -- one can nibble and yak at the same time -- so that , if we find a place to "park" after, we can do it as a gaggle <g>
What I'm hoping for also is that we'll be able to find a "corner" someplace (maybe in the lobby or nearby) where we can just "hang out" *throughout the week*, without being formal about it. A place where one could check for any Arachneans who might be there between classes or in the evenings...
In any case, I'm making a sign for us, and hope to have it ready in time... Got a "Jumping Jack" spider this past Halloween, and just this weekend started dressing him up for his big outing :) He'll have copper-coloured legs and blue body, with a lace @ -- based Lenka Suchanek's drawing -- in green and copper, on the front. I hope to be able to find somewhere to hang him, instead of carting him around all the time... :)
