Please forgive my ignorance, but can you tell us a little more of Durga.
I am BLing something very different and exotic. A Lace head-dress for the
Hindu Goddess Durga, which Tamara very kindly designed for me in Milanese.

When she asked me to design it, she sent me an image (black line drawing, advertising the Durga Puja). And refused to divulge; "I'm interested in a Western 'take' on this" she said. "I want to make it in Madeira Tanne 50" she said. "I'll tell you more afterwards" she said. So there I was, a clue-less guinea pig... You, Viv, are in UK; y'all's ties to India aren't all that far in the past, but, me??? I know zero about that culture... It took me *weeks* of trying to immerse myself (books, films, websites -- URLs provided by *other people*, not Sulochona <g>) before I even dared to begin...
But I've "paid her back" <g> I designed some totally new braids for it. Let her struggle some, too <g>
