Bev,

What have you started? I resolved, as I finished work yesterday (did you
all hear the whoops of joy ?) to finish things which have been on pillows
for longer than I like to think about - a small but intricate circular mat,
a large lace hankie edging by Joan Kelly (love her patterns, and sorry to
hear she wasn't in the best of health last time I talked to a friend of
hers), a lace clown in the most vivid and bright colours for the second
grandson, a lace garter of my own design in the fond hope that my daughter
will take the plunge into the marital pool, the Beds bookmark of a
daffodil - which is not really for the faint-hearted! - a small motif that
usually goes to Lace Days with me, and of course, not much of which gets
done....

When all that is done, I plan to make a wide edging to go round a surplice
for my daughter-in-law's father, as he is being ordained a deacon next
year - and I first promised this two years ago - do you think I should get
lacing *right now*? I also bought, when one of my class bought a similar
pattern, a pricking - to be displayed in a silver (plated?) candlestick
holder - in Bucks point, so I should get cracking with that, as my student
has nearly finished hers! One of the groups that I belong to has an
exhibition of work at their Lace Day in June, and next year's is Bookmarks,
so several are needed for that, as well as the *ordinary* display of the
other work completed in the year ...... Should I go on? I am feeling
exhausted already, and probably need to lie down in a darkened room - or at
least get off the computer, and actually do some lace!

Ah well - back to the Lace Place, and see what can be done before bedtime -
I'll keep you all posted on the progress - or lack thereof!!!

Carol - in a really warm and sunny East Anglia, and hoping it just gets
warmer when we go to Wales very soon!
