This show used to be known as the Madeira Fashion and Embroidery Show, since it was organised by Madeira threads. It has now been taken over by ICHF but the format remains the same. It is rather less commercial than say the Knitting and Stitching shows, having more exhibitions such as the New Zealand one you mentioned and the one on Wedding dresses. There are also always exhibitions form Art colleges who run textile courses some of whom are supported by bursaries given from Madeira threads. I wonder if the Victoria Dress will include the Lace? It does not mention that in the blurb and how do you reproduce all that honiton flounce and bertha? I will be going to find out.

Now, I've no idea about the quality of the lace on this replica dress, and I
hold no brief for the company that's promoting the show. In fact, I'm so
'not interested' that I'm unlikely to even be a customer at all - satisfied
or otherwise. (Although there are some other items that do look attractive
. . . a 'Restoration Studio' on care and restoration of textiles; an
exhibition of traditional work from New Zealand; and it does seem to include
lace-making. Hmm . . . I wonder if the date coincides with an occasion
when I could go to stay with my sister?)
