The Professor has just finished scanning a large book on The Peasant Art of
Italy. There are four sections--not much on lace in the 4th part--but 1 and 2
might be worth taking a look. There's an article by Ricci in #2. I haven't
checked to see whether the few laces depicted are ones in the large volumes I
am scanning (the first one is finally done!), but I wouldn't be surprised if
they were.

You can find this by going to <
hhtp://www.cs.arizona.edu/patterns/weaving/2003-08.html>, then clicking on books. It
is at the top: Holme, Peasant Art in
Italy. Note, too, the latest from Josette and her Russian friend Katia. That
book is right there, too. It hasn't been posted on our site yet, so take a
look: you'll like it--patterns!
