...The rest were made into bookmarks (the 5's cunningly intertwining with the 0's) for the hand-made and hand-stitched "notebooks" which Jacqueline Gaines (a past and a future - -- but not current -- Arachnean, who's "into" paper as well as lace) made, and which every attendee of the banquet got as a gift... Given the number of attendees, that *alone* took a mind-boggling amount of work. It's a good thing a biggie like that rolls on only every 50 yrs <g>
The books were a joint effort by the 3 NJ groups. Jacquie pressed all the paper and covers (not an easy fete! and definitely a lot of time and effort) but the inner papers were organized and prepared by several members and the sewing took a minimum of 1 hour each book! and was done by MANY,MANY Cranberry Lacers, Lost Art Lacers and Metropolitan Lacers! This was the one occasion where we wished we had less attendees! Lee Daly
