Dear Hannah,

I haven't seen an answer to your query yet on the list. Has anyone contacted
you privately? If you haven't heard an answer yet, it may be because we're all
in a bit of a quandary how to answer. You don't make it clear whether you are
asking for advice on how to attach machine-made lace to handkerchief blanks,
or how to make the lace itself. The former could be done in a few weeks; the
latter is most unlikely--first, because it takes most people some time to learn
the skills to make the simplest laces, and second, because most laces take
quite some time to make, even when the skills are mastered.

If you already knew how to make the laces, and you used very simple laces,
you could make a few hankerchief borders, and attach the borders to the centers,
in a couple of weeks--but it would probably take many hours each day!

Then, too, we're not sure what kind of lace you mean. Bobbin lace, tatting,
needle lace, crochet, knitted?

If you could explain the purpose of these handkerchiefs, we might be able to
advise you of a do-able alternative to "homemade".

Hello Dear Ladies, I need some advice from you. I have been asked to make
some hankerchiefs with lace edgings. She needs them in a couple of weeks
and
I do not have the funds or time to send off after professional ones so need
to
make my own. I have never done this before and could use any help you can
give me. Thank You Hannah Moad SW. MO >>
