Poole used to charge anyone over 60 not working the senior citizen fee, but
since they had to give men over 60 half price bus travel cards, they've put
the sc charge for classes back up to 65 for men. Bournemouth has it still at
60 for both sexes.

Poole won't run a class if there are less than 12 people in it. Bournemouth
gives the choice of either closing the class or doing less than 2 hours per
week (the reduction depending on how many there are in the class), and the
teacher takes proportionately less pay.

As for dolphins, they are seen in Poole bay, which covers the Bournemouth
coast to the east as well (really annoys people from Poole when it's called
Bournemouth Bay) and then warnings go out to the idiots who try to swim with
them that dolphins can be dangerous, but it doesn't stop them.

The Dolphin Shopping Centre was called the Arndale, and some of the older
residents still call it that. There's no wooden turtle any more. They've
also renamed Poole Arts Centre the 'Lighthouse'. Why, I don't know - there's
no light on it, and it can't be seen from the harbour, but presumably
someone thought it was a good idea. The town slogan has also been change
from "Poole it's a beautiful place" (whoever coined that is in desperate
need of seeing an optician), to "Poole, it's all happening" to try and
attract the younger clubbers instead of the coach trips of pensioners
visiting Poole Pottery.

Jean (obviously in Poole, and not thinking very much of it)
